Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (Beautiful Resort) (4/17-25/09) We found paradise!

We stayed at the all-inclusive Catalonia Bavaro resort on a lovely silky-sand Punta Cana beach. We enjoyed a week in Punta Cana swimming and snorkeling in warm blue water, resting and reading under palapas, taking long walks along palm tree lined beaches, beach parties, and wonderful meals. 

I told Pat she best not get to used to this treatment. She ignored me.

Punta Cana is the name of a region in the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic. The region is home to a coastline of sandy white beaches and to a "town" of the same name.

Travel tip... Peak season in Punta Cana tends to run from December to April. Prices in both airfare and hotel increase dramatically during these times, while dropping in the summer and early fall months.

The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean country that occupies the eastern two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola. The western one-third of Hispaniola is occupied by the country of Haiti. To the north lies the North Atlantic Ocean, while the Caribbean Sea lies to the south.
